Volunteering
Volunteers play a vital role in the functioning of our monastery. Volunteers help to keep our monastery building and grounds clean; maintain and water our garden; IT and Computer Support; and, maintain our library.
Further, when we have special events to celebrate the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda and on the Krishna Puja day, we have a Karma Yoga day on a Saturday proceeding the special event day. On the Karma Yoga day, the volunteers help to get the monastery and its facilities ready for the Puja. Please contact the monastery if you would like to participate on the Karma Yoga day. If you are on our mailing list, you will also receive an announcement about the Karma Yoga day from our Swami.
Membership
Membership is open to those who are seriously interested on the teachings of Vedanta and have attended lectures and classes for some time. In addition, an interview with Swami Harinamananda and the senior swami is required.
Spiritual Initiation
Swami Sarvadevananda is authorized to grant spiritual initiation, or mantra diksa, to sincere spiritual aspirants who are ready to commit to a routine of daily spiritual practice. Please contact the monastery for more information.

The San Diego monastery is self-supported and is managed and supported by the help of the devotees. All contributions are appreciated.
